Refurbishment of a listed Embassy building in Dublin
Bauaufgabe
The Swiss Embassy in Dublin (Chancery and Residence) is located at 6 and 8 Ailesbury Road in Dublin (floor area ca. 1’150 m2). The pair of houses were built in the late 19th century and are listed as a single entry in the record of Protected Structures. No. 6 has been owned by the Swiss Government since 1957 and serves as the diplomatic office for both the Swiss Embassy and the Austrian Embassy. No. 8, meanwhile, has been the residence of the Swiss Ambassador to Ireland since 1954.
After 60 years of use, the buildings require renovation and modernization to meet current building regulations and standards. The project aims not only to refurbish the property but also improve operational processes and enhance security measures while preserving its architectural value.
